Too much for a PS3 help?

Just wondering if I paid to much for this PS3: ebay.com/itm/290788494636?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p398 4.m1497.l2649

Also what would be the best route for repair the drive ??? I was thinking something like this: ebay.com/itm/221138532939?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p398 4.m1423.l2649

Or should I get a whole new drive? There is a huge price difference.

whether you paid too much is not an easy question to answer, these forums have people from all areas of all countries, where i am from ps3s are very cheap but ps3s on 3.55 are not easy to get and my 120gig slim 3.55 cost 180 other areas of the country they go from around 150 upto 200. cost seems to be area dictated by area and availability.

as for the repair.. if you put second hand parts in they usually wont last long, or could be faulty when actually purchased, so unless you getting the part very cheap you would be better off buying new.

not very helpful answers, but it wasn;t a very easy question either. (no definitive answer)

To repair the ps3 drive it is easy. One way to do it is replace the whole drive except the control board. That is what marries the drive to the ps3. If it is a new 160 or 320gb ps3 then they have the control board on the ps3 motherboard so you can replace the whole drive.

If the control board is bad then to fix the drive you will have to replace it and to get it to work you will to be on 3.55 ofw cause you have to put the system in service mode to get it to remarry the control board. Thanks
