[Answered] Playing PS2 and PSX games on PS3?

    Hi anyone

I've just bought my very own PS3, mostly because i could get it cheap. I'm not really a fan of playing FPS games on consoles, but i like playing tekken, and other fighting games. The only problem is that the new tekken 6 is very expensive imo, so i was wondering if it is possible to play PSX and PS2 games on the PS3?

I have read a lot about it, but I can't seem to find a YES or a NO.

    Any answers are appreciated.

Indeed... search next time though, as this is covered countless times and is clearly answered here in numerous threads already.

Easiest way to tell on non-Slim PS3's: If your PS3 has 4 USB ports it can, if it has only 2 then it can't.

    Well.... that depends.

It depends which PS3 you bought. If it's the new PS3 slim, it's a definate no-go. Playstation's official website will tell you if your model is backwards compatible or not, and as of yet, the PS3 hasn't been hacked, so there's not any chance of running emulator software on a non-compatible model.

(As far as I know anyways....)
