XBSlink is Working with PS3 for Multiplayer via P2P Connection
A little over a week ago a guide was posted on how to play online using a JailBroken PS3 with XLink Kai, and today bumax reports that XBSlink is working with the PS3 also for multiplayer games via P2P connection.
Download: XBSlink Setup v0.8.3.3
To quote: XBSLink is client/server to enable local network multiplayer games over the Internet just like XLink Kai, the only difference is that it's a P2P connection!
How is XBSlink different to Xlink Kai/xbconnect?
In difference to other Systemlink proxies, XBSlink is purely P2P with no server infrastructure. No server connection or specialized game browser service is necessary.
You are not dependent on any other factors. All packets in and out are 100% between the client nodes itself. The program was developed to get the last bit of speed/ping time thats possible. And to know, that no other data than the game packets itself is send to the internet.
From developer I asked if this could work with PS3 and he said, YES.
With "enable special MAC list" -feature.
Ok, I tested this with my friend with Blur and it works.
What you need to do is here:
For host & remote do:
1) Add your PS3 MAC into special MAC list (picture 1)
2) Start Engine (picture 1)
3) Start game and host local network multiplayer game (only if you are host)
For remote do:
1) After steps above add remote host ip or host (picture 2)
2) Push announce to Remote Host (picture 2)
3) Start game and connect local network multiplayer game (only if you are remote)
After these steps host and remote is connected and you can have a chat while you play game
This was after all alot easier and quicker that xlink kai.
And I didn't have to make any account to connect etc..

Komi77 & niciuffo I may be wrong here, but unless you two have shared your PS3 MAC addresses with each other - you're not going to connect.
Having had a look at the first article above only (i've not downloaded the app, or anything - so forgive me if i'm wrong)
This appears to me to be for friends to connect with one another where they have shared their MAC addresses with each other. (You appear to need to input one or more MAC addresses into the "special MAC list")
If this is wrong - please someone post and correct me.
p.s. Don't forget that you'll need each other's IP addresses too

Sounds reall great. Time to open up a Thread where we can share our MACīs and IPīs with each other. To get all jailbroeken ps3īs connected would be the goal to have a reall online community like psn working.
