    what is the easiest way to make psx games to function on a ps3?

    No, PS1 and ps2games are region encoded.
    Itīs possible but you would have to open up the ps3 to do a disc swap.

    lol I hadn't realised they had this capability. I just figured the new ones only did PS3 games lol.

    From my understanding the new ones do play psx games but don't play ps2 games.

    And of course ps3 games.

    this is meant for japanese ps3s right? ... because im using a european 40g model and still have some games here... espacially i mean copied games from the past ^^ good old stuff...

    Something like a swap available maybe?

    You can use swap magic, but it needs to be the same region as your ps3 is, that will allow you to run backups.
