I just built the board and will test in a few moments. Just don't have CCS at hand to build it myself.
No error when I builded it.

Is it true the sony patched it on psn with a new 3.41 firmware ? I've just updated it ...

No idea Nanaki666 about the 3.41 update, but I think the backup manager shouldn't start either if they patched it. Or?

I just tested, the patch in descriptors is not correct, setting the game in backup manager doesn't work (it still shows the game disc).
Tested also with teensy and it works correct.

I just took my descriptor.h patched from the net and recompiled it and it's the same hex as the one in my chip...

    I'm lost here >.>

Try the 12MHz version from hackmich and change the PLL divider before flashing. I can't try it now, have to wait till morning.

According to my friend with a PIC programmer, it won't work on the 2455 because of filesize.

According to Microchip manual yes you can use same hex files and IC pins also same like 2550.

    Question

Why not release the PIC18F sourcecode?

    PIC18F2455 works fine

Look attachmet for Schematic.. you can use the same Schematic from xbox360 USB SPI flasher without "J1" pins
