PS3 K_License Extractor Python Script for PKG Files is Released

Today an anonymous PS3 developer has released a PS3 K_License Extractor Python Script for PlayStation 3 PKG files.

Download: PS3 K_License Extractor Python Script for PKG Files / PS3 K_License Extractor Python Script for PKG Files (Mirror)

To quote: An anonymous developer has released a K_License Extractor for use on retail and debug PKGs.

The k_license is a unique license string generated and embedded in PSN and other PKG files. The script will retrieve and display this k_license when ran.

Please note the app is in the form of a python script and meant for experienced devs.

Finally, from PS3 developer littlebalup comes PyPS3tools: a suite of Python tools for PS3 flash memory dump files alongside PyPS3rebuilder v0.1a WIP (work in progress) with details below.

A beta version of the rebuilder is available for test purpose only !

Note: Supports NOR and NAND dumps. For NOR you can restore a byte reversed dump with a non byte reversed dump as donor. Or vice versa. The script take care to swap bytes if necessary. The generated file will be the same type as the original file.

    Download: PyPS3tools-master.zip (Latest v0.3) / GIT / rebuilder.py / PyPS3tools Checker / Patcher Updated with 4.76 Hashes and Patch

To quote: I continue my crusade for unix based system users. So I decided to create new dump tools that can be run natively on a maximum of systems (including windows).

As the wonderful Judges's NORway & NANDway scripts are written in python 2, I naturally chosen the same langage to complete them by creating a "patcher" and a "checker" that can be run into the same environment.

With all of those python scripts, we are able to dump, check, patch and flash on all python 2 compatible systems. And a batch/bash script can be easily be written to automate all of this (for NOR at least. An "interleaver" still missing for NAND).

Scripts, detailed readme and changelog are available to my git (linked above).

    PyPS3rebuilder released. Available via github.

Yes, you need python 2. And no, I'll not make an exe. Goal is to have multi-OS simple scripts. But it is not a big deal to install python on Windows. If you use a Teensy, you should have it.

    PyPS3checker overview:

Compatible with any type of PS3 flash memory dump file:
    • Regular NOR dump (teensy, progskeet, dumps from homebrew)
    • Revesed NOR dump (E3 flasher)
    • Interleaved NAND dump

Customization of checks and hashes can be done by editing the "checklist.xml" and "hashlist.xml" files.

All initial checks are those from PS3dumpchecker (many thanks to Swizzy), plus a "risklevel" parameter that can be "WARNING" or "DANGER" like on the BwE validators.

    Check log auto-generated as "[mydump].checklog.txt"

    PyPS3patcher overview:

Compatible with any type of PS3 flash memory dump file:
    • Regular NOR dump (teensy, progskeet, dumps from homebrew)
    • Revesed NOR dump (E3 flasher)
    • Interleaved NAND dump

Patch FSM, noFSM, RVK (see detailed commands). Byte reverse NOR dump (see "swap" command).

Thanks to beta testers from LS

A "short" demonstration made under Windows. It's a raw video. No time for video editing

    PyPS3tools Changelog v0.3, (03 Nov 2015)

    PyPS3checker:
    • Fixed bug displaying the whole dump data in console if reversed check fails.
    • Added alternate conditions to determine if dump is reversed or not.
    • Various minor wording corrections.
    • Added one CECHBxx SKU check entry (NAND).
    • Added none-wifi machines entry in cISD2 check (NOR & NAND).

    PyPS3patcher:
    • Various minor wording corrections.

    PyPS3rebuilder:
    • Various minor wording corrections.

this is for extracting the "k_license" string from a pkg file in no way will this help you in obtaining a dlc package that will run on your ps3 (it can read but not write the string into the file as it appears from the description)... if you want pkg files I suggest you look here:

Hopefully this will lead to those of us who have multiple machines being able to sign content that we have bought for all of our machines, instead of it being locked to one machine.
