To quote: Hi ! I've changed and extended my tools for a complete PS3-ISO-handling. Now it's an all-in-one tool for converting, extracting, renaming, splitting, joining and patching.

Here's the Readme: PS3 ISO TOOLS V1.2B by Rudi Rastelli

    Credits:

    Estwald for "makeps3iso", "extractps3iso" and "patchps3iso"
    aldostools for game-name/game-id database *

    Description:

"PS3 ISO TOOLS" is an all-in-one tool for a complete PS3-ISO handling and contains:
    • ISO-Generator to convert PS3-Folder-Format-Games 2 PS3-ISO-Format-Games (splitted big-files will be joined)
    • ISO-Extractor to convert PS3-ISO-Format-Games 2 PS3-Folder-Format-Games (big-files will be optionaly splitted)
    • ISO-Splitter to split single PS3-ISOs for use on a FAT32 device ("*.iso.0", "*.iso.1", ...etc)
    • ISO-Joiner to join splitted PS3-ISOs into single PS3-ISOs
    • ISO-Renamer to rename single or splitted PS3-ISOs according to a game-name/game-id database and to hide/un-hide parts of splitted ISOs ("*.iso.1", "*.iso.2", ...etc)
    • ISO-Patcher to patch single or splitted PS3-ISOs to a lower firmware version (down to 4.21)

    Usage:

    Pretty self-explanatory... read the tool-tips

    Notes:
    • You can batch-convert all of your PS3-Folder-Format-Games, when you select your game-archive as source-folder(eg "X:\GAMES" or "X:\GAMESZ")
    • All other tools, with the exception of ISO-Patcher, support batch-operation as well. Just multi-select the ISOs you like to process.
    • ISO-names will NOT contain special ASCII-characters 0-31, 126-255 and also NOT /\:*?"<>| ... This is to avoid problems with webMAN

    Tips:
    • While converting to ISO-format "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG"(Game-Icon) will be placed (hidden) as "[ISO-name].SFO" and "[ISO-name].PNG" at target-folder.
    • If you use webMAN copy these 2 files(per game) to "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/". This will save you the effort to mount each game at least once to make webMAN display it's game-icon.

    PS3 ISO TOOLS V1.4B Changelog: (1/1/2014)

    Version 1.4B
    • Saves paths selected for JB-format and ISO-format within a config-file
    • Fixed a bug which appears whenever a previous conversion had crashed
    • Updated Readme about behavior in case of an aborted batch conversion.

    Regards
    Rudi

PS3 ISO Tools v1.5B for PS3 ISO Converting By Rudi Rastelli Out

Following up on his previous updates, today PlayStation 3 developer Rudi Rastelli has updated PS3 ISO Tools to version 1.5B followed by v1.6B for PS3 ISO converting with details below, as follows:

    Download: PS3_ISO_TOOLS.exe / PS3_ISO_TOOLS_V1.6B.rar

    To quote: Version 1.5B - Jan. 07 2014

PS3 ISO TOOLS Version 1.5B by Rudi Rastelli

    Changelog Version 1.5B
    • added rename-option to extract game icon and "PARAM.SFO" from ISO(s)
    • some bug fixes

Note: Keep in mind game icon and "PARAM.SFO" has always file attribute HIDDEN

Additional Note: While i was working on adding the function to extract "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG" i had problems with 3 of my ISOs. Nothing was extracted from these 3 ISOs, while all the others did fine.

I then tried to open these 3 with 7ZIP and winRAR and both gave me an error that ISO is corrupt.

The ISOs were created TeamCobra's "genps3iso" a while ago. May be this tool is faulty. I've re-dumped the 3 games and converted them now with Estwald's "makeps3iso" using PS3 ISO TOOLS and now everything seems to be ok.

Conclusion: Try to extract "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG" from all of your ISOs and check if they are all there. It might not be a 100% test.. but it's better than nothing i guess.

    Update: Version 1.6B - Jan. 09 2014

UPDATE to Version 1.6B - PS3 ISO TOOLS Version 1.6B by Rudi Rastell

    Change log v1.6B
    • Accurate progress bar for all functions
    • Include latest version of "makeps3iso" (thx Estwald)
    • A few "cosmetic" changes
    • Some small bug fixes

    Regards
    Rudi

PS3 Game Updater v0.90, v0.91 and v0.92 By Rudi Rastelli Out

Following up on his previous release, today PlayStation 3 developer Rudi Rastelli has made available PS3 Game Updater v0.90 followed by several revised updates with details below.

    Download: PS3 Game Updater V0.91.rar / PS3 Game Updater V0.92.rar / PS3 Game Updater V0.94.rar / PS3 Game Updater V0.95.rar / PS3 Game Updater V1.0.rar / PS3 Game Updater V1.1.rar / PS3 Game Updater V1.2.rar / PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.3.rar / PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.3.1.rar / PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.3.2.rar / make_package_license.rar by Rudi Rastelli / make_package_license.rar by Rudi Rastelli and aldostools / PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.5.rar / PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.52.rar

To quote: Hi ! I've made a small tool to create and manage a ps3-games-updates-archive. May be someone else finds it useful too. Here's the README for a quick overview:

PS3 GAME UPDATER V0.9 by Rudi Rastelli

    Credits:

    TeamSOS for Allunpkg
    DeLiGht for psn_package_npdrm
    aldostools for game-database

    Feature-List:
    • Obtain PS3 game update(s) by simply selecting a game in one of it's 3 usual formats (PKG / ISO / Folder).
    • Aborted downloads will be resumed
    • Already downloaded not outdated game-updates will be skipped
    • Outdated game-updates will optionally be deleted
    • The update-files(*.pkg) get well readable names... thx aldostools database
    • In Normal-Mode you can select which game-updates to download or not
    • Batch-Mode to download all updates for all(or selected) games of a game-archive
    • PKG-Extractor via 'Extra'-menu (should be able to extract any "*.pkg"-file... not even update-files)

    Usage:

    Hopefully self-explanatory... read the tool-tips

    Notes:
    • Updates will be stored to the folder u've selected on 1st start... You can change that folder via 'Extra'-menu. This folder is kind of an game-updates-archive. If you don't select anything here a "MyPS3GamesUpdates"-folder will be created and used inside progam-folder
    • Using the "Delete outdated Updates"-option in batch-mode allows you to clean up your game-updates-archive and keep it up-to-date. Tip: To "clean up" only: Activate batch-mode -> Select your game-archiv -> Select NO game -> [Download]-Button
    • If database (database.txt) isn't there for ISOs and folders the game-name from "PARAM.SFO", for PKGs the name of "*.pkg"-file and
for manually entering the GameID the GAMEID itself will be used.
    • In batch mode select a game-archive-folder. E.g ".../GAMES/", ".../PS3ISO/", ".../MyPSNGames/" etc etc
    • Extracted PKG-files will be stored in a folder with same name and at the same directory as the PKG-file

Because this is the 1st version, which has some problems 4 sure, I would be lucky to hear about any bugs you'll find and to get suggestions for improvement.

    Update #1: Changelog v0.91:
    • Added batch updates download from a selectable text based game list

Tip: To be able to scan games (folder/iso/pkg-format) on the internal ps3 hdd i recommend having any ps3-ftp-server running and using NETDRIVE to mount internal PS3 hdd as a drive in windows explorer.

    Update #2: Changelog v0.92:
    • Now using Pkgview to extract pkg-files (to avoid virus-warning some anti-virus-programs gave on "unpkg GUI.exe")

    Update #3: Changelog v0.94:
    • Bug fixed, which prevented that Updater from finding all available updates
    • Updater does not create empty folders for games without updates
    • Scans deeper now... means you can have more subfolders in your game archive
    • Scan of installed PSN games in "/dev_hdd0/game/" now supported

    Update #4: Changelog v0.95
    • Fixed the bug which adds "INCOMPLETE_" to filenames even when the download isn't incomplete

    Regards
    Rudi

    Update #5: Changelog v1.0

    Hi ! I have a little XMAS-gift 4 you... It's a new version of my old PS3 GAME UPDATER.

It has some new fancy functions that might be useful for ODE users(and CFW users as well) like create 'Install Discs' for game updates (not as limited as IDC is) or merge updates into game (experimental). But read yourself:
    Code:
    ****************************************************************
    *                     PS3 GAME UPDATER V1.0                    *
    * by Rudi Rastelli                                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * Credits:                                                     *
    * ifcaro for 'PkgView'                                         *
    * RipCord for 'resign_to_disc'                                 *
    * aldostools for 'game/klics-database'                         *
    * deliGht for 'psn_package_npdrm'                              *
    ****************************************************************

    Feature-List:

    - Single-Game-Mode : Downloads game-update(s) by simply selecting a game in one of it's 3 usual formats(PKG / ISO / Folder).
    - Batch-Mode : Creates an updates-archive, which could contain all available updates for all games of the user.
                             Choose either a game-archive(ISOs, PSN-Game-PKGs or Game-Folder) or a text-list containing 'Game-IDs'.
    - PKG-Extractor : Extracts PKG-files at the same folder where the PKG-file is.
    - Install-Updates-Disc : Creates a disc, which can be used to offline install game updates of a certain game(2 types of disc: auto-install & bubble install) *NEW*
    - Finale-Game-Disc : Creates a disc, containing the game itself and all of it's updates for auto install. *NEW*
    - Integrate Updates : Convertion and Intergration of update(NPDRM)-files to disc-files (useful mainly 4 ODE-users with older PS3-firmware) *NEW*

    - Aborted downloads will be resumed
    - Already downloaded game-updates will be skipped
    - Outdated game-updates will optionally be deleted from updates-archive
    - The update-pkg-files get well readable names
    - Creates a log-file while updating updates-archive in order to have a quick overview of wht#s been updated *NEw*

    Usage:

    Hopefully self-explanatory... read the tool-tips

    Notes:

    - Updates will be stored and organized in the folder(=updates-archive) u've selected on 1st start... You can change that folder via 'Extra'-menu. If you don't select anything here a "MyPS3GamesUpdates"-folder will be created and used inside progam-folder

    - Using the "Delete outdated Updates"-option in batch-mode allows you to clean up your game-updates-archive and keep it up-to-date. Tip: Activate batch-mode -> Select your game-archiv -> Leave anything as pre-selected -> [Download]-Button -> archive will be updated

    - In batch mode select a game-archive-folder. E.g ".../GAMES/", ".../PS3ISO/", ".../MyPSNGames/" Or... select a text-list. Example for a typical valid text line: "BLUS12345 WHATEVER_YOU_LIKE_TO_WRITE_HERE"

    - If you create the "Install Updates Discs" to "GAMES"-folder you will have all updates for a game as disc ready for offline-installation, without the need to 1st copy update.pkgs over to PS3. This is really useful if u stream your games(and the updates as well). Usage : Mount "Install Updates Disc" -> Install updates -> Mount game -> Play (most easy with type "Auto Install Updates Discs")

    - Whenever you've updated your updates-archive, just call the "Install Updates Discs"-function again to update the discs as well.

    - Number of game-updates on a "Install Updates Disc" is limited to 99, which is far enough for all already existing games.

    - The "Make Final Game Version"-function is useful for older games for which no further updates can be expected.
This way you can create a game-version that contains all available updates and you will have everything on one place.

    - The "Integrate Updates"-function is highly experimental and doesn't work with all games. A BACKUP OF THE GAME FOLDER IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED ! It creates zip-files af the original-npdrm-files and it's patched-to-disc-files in program folder.

    - Some of the 'Extra'-menu functions will give you an extra help-text when called.

    - Update 'game-database' and 'klics-database' from time to time via 'Extra'-menu
    Regards & Happy XMAS
    Rudi

    Update #6: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.1:
    • Changed naming of Updates Install Disc(s) for slightly better sorting in webMAN
    • Updates Install Disc(s) could now be created as ISO(s)
    • ISO(s)>4GB will be automatically splitted when FAT32-device is selected as target

    Update #7: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.2:
    • All Updates-Discs names and GAME_TITELs in PARAM.SFOs now start with ''-character to make them appear at bottom of webMAN-game-list (This does not effect the updates itself... they will install with normal GAME_TITELs)
    • A progress bar which will be shown when creating an Updates-Disc-ISO (instead of the % value shown in v1.1)

    Update #8: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.3:
    • Updated Games Database (thx aldostools)
    • If a game isn't in database you'll be prompted to enter its name for adding it to the database

    Update #9: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.3.1:

I guess i've found the problem. On 1st start it tries to download an updated database online at aldostools old site. But this fails because this file is no longer online. That's why i've greyed out the update-functions in Extra-menu.
I simply forgot to test 1st start once again... else i would have noticed the problem.

Hope it is now fixed with v1.3.1.

    Update #10: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.3.2:
    • Bug fixing
    • Workaround for PKGView/Net Framwork restriction

    Update #11: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.5:
    • Exchanged 'PKGView' and 'pkgtool' with 'PS3P PKG Ripper' to speed some things up

    Update #12: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.51:

    Update #13: PS3 Game Updater Changelog v1.52:
    • Single-Game-Mode: Downloads game-update(s) by simply selecting a game in one of it's 3 usual formats(PKG / ISO / Folder).
    • Batch-Mode: Creates an updates-archive, which could contain all available updates for all games of the user. Choose either a game-archive(ISOs, PSN-Game-PKGs or Game-Folder) or a text-list containing 'Game-IDs'.
    • PKG-Extractor: Extracts PKG-files at the same folder where the PKG-file is.
    • Install-Updates-Disc: Creates a disc, which can be used to offline install game updates of a certain game(2 types of disc: auto-install & bubble install) *NEW* Discs can be created in folder- or ISO-format.(ISOs bigger 4GB will be splitted whenever a FAT32 device is selected as target.)
    • Finale-Game-Disc: Creates a disc, containing the game itself and all of it's updates for auto install. *NEW*
    • Integrate Updates: Convertion and Intergration of update(NPDRM)-files to disc-files (useful mainly 4 ODE-users with older PS3-firmware) *NEW*
    • Aborted downloads will be resumed
    • Already downloaded game-updates will be skipped
    • Outdated game-updates will optionally be deleted from updates-archive
    • The update-pkg-files get well readable names
    • Creates a log-file while updating updates-archive in order to have a quick overview of wht#s been updated *NEW*

    • Latest "makeps3iso", "extractps3iso" and "patchps3iso" included
    • Option to allow some special Characters, like 'TM' or '(R)', in ISO-names (WARNING: Doesn't work with 'webMAN' but works with 'multiMAN' or 'IrisManager' as far as i can tell)
    • Shows log file after conversion/extraction for a quick check if everything goes well
    • Check for insufficient free disk space on target drive
    • Quick Update v1.91b: Added Check for insufficient free disk space on target drive

    Changelog v1.94B:
    • Various bug fixes
    • Include latest makeps3iso, extractps3iso, patchps3iso

    • ISO-Joiner to join splitted PS3-ISOs into single PS3-ISOs
    • ISO-Modifier to rename single or splitted PS3-ISOs according to game-info found in "PARAM.SFO"-file to hide/un-hide parts of splitted ISOs ("*.iso.1", "*.iso.2", ...etc) to extract and save "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG" as "[ISO-name].SFO" respectively "[ISO-name].PNG" within ISO-folder
    • ISO-Patcher to patch single or splitted PS3-ISOs to a lower firmware version (down to 4.21)

    Usage:
    • Pretty self-explanatory... read the tool-tips

This is to avoid problems with webMAN (You can allow usage of special ASCII-characters 126-255, like 'TM' or '(R)' in "ISO-conversion-Options")
    • After conversion/extraction a log-file will be shown, which compares size and number of files

    Tips:
    • While converting to ISO-format "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG"(Game-Icon) will be placed (hidden) as "[ISO-name].SFO" and "[ISO-name].PNG" at target-folder. If you use webMAN copy these 2 files(per game) to "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/". This will save you the effort to mount each game at least once to make webMAN display it's game-icon.
    • Aborted batch-conversions could be continued. Already finished conversions will be skipped.

    Credits:
    Estwald for "makeps3iso", "extractps3iso" and "patchps3iso"

    Changelog v1.941:
    • Sry... V1.94 has some debug-code inside... Here is clean version.

    Changelog V1.95B:
    • Considers now that 'PS3UPDAT.PUP' will be excluded from the ISO (4 more details see Readme)
    • Now patches Game-ISOs that need firmware>4.50

Note: There seems to be a problem that on some systems ISO will not be renamed after conversion. I assume an incompatibility with some anti-virus-software. But i was not able to reproduce this behaviour on my PC.

Therefore i've added some lines of debug-code in the current version. If you get error-messages immediately after conversion pls tell me here or via pm. And pls, if possible, try again with your anti-virus-software disabled.

    Changelog V1.97B:

    Changelog:
    • Changed 7z to a more stable version (previous version caused a crash on some pc systems.)
    • Fixed a bug which causes wrong display of number of files being patched, Old version patches the correct number of files, but it reports "4 files patched" while in fact 24 files files were patched (just an example)

    Regards,

    Rudi

PS3 ISO Tools v1.98B for PS3 ISO Converting By Rudi Rastelli Out

Following up on his previous releases, today PlayStation 3 developer Rudi Rastelli has made available PS3 ISO Tools v1.98B followed by v1.982B, v1.983B, v2.0 and PS3 ISO TOOLS v2.1 for PS3 ISO converting with details below.

    Download: PS3_ISO_TOOLS_V1.98B.rar / PS3_ISO_TOOLS_V1.982B.rar / PS3_ISO_TOOLS_V1.983B.rar / PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.0.rar / MissingDLLs.rar / PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.1.rar / PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.1.rar (Mirror) / PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.2.rar

    To quote: Update PS3-ISO-TOOLS v1.983B
    • Now it patches games requiring FW-Version > 4.60
    • If a FAT32-drive is selected as target for converting to ISO the resulting ISO(s) will now be automatically splitted
    • Bug fixed which leads to a program-freeze in some rare cases when extracting a splitted ISO
    • It's no longer needed to start PS3 ISO TOOLS as Admin under Win8(.1) when patching ISO

    Update PS3-ISO-TOOLS v1.982B
    • Fixes a small bug which froze program when trying to extract a non-existing ICON0.PNG from some rare isos (Happened 2 me only on Okami HD, that has no ICON0.PNG)

    Update PS3-ISO-TOOLS v1.98B
    • Fixed bug which deleted whole ISO when trying to only extract PARAM.SFO and game-icon via "Modify ISO(s)"

Note: If you have problems/crashes with the patch functionality under win8(.1) try running PS3 ISO TOOLS as admin.

PS3 ISO TOOLS V1.97B - by Rudi Rastelli

    Credits: Estwald for "makeps3iso", "extractps3iso" and "patchps3iso" *

Description: "PS3 ISO TOOLS" is an all-in-one tool for a complete PS3-ISO handling and contains:
    • ISO-Generator to convert PS3-Folder-Format-Games 2 PS3-ISO-Format-Games (splitted big-files will be joined)
    • ISO-Extractor to convert PS3-ISO-Format-Games 2 PS3-Folder-Format-Games (big-files will be optionaly splitted)
    • ISO-Splitter to split single PS3-ISOs for use on a FAT32 device ("*.iso.0", "*.iso.1", ...etc)
    • ISO-Joiner to join splitted PS3-ISOs into single PS3-ISOs
    • ISO-Modifier to rename single or splitted PS3-ISOs according to game-info found in "PARAM.SFO"-file to hide/un-hide parts of splitted ISOs ("*.iso.1", "*.iso.2", ...etc) to extract and save "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG" as "[ISO-name].SFO" respectively "[ISO-name].PNG" within ISO-folder
    • ISO-Patcher to patch single or splitted PS3-ISOs to a lower firmware version (down to 4.21)

Usage: Pretty self-explanatory... read the tool-tips

    • As default ISO-names will NOT contain special ASCII-characters 0-31, 126-255 and also NOT /\:*?"<>| ... This is to avoid problems with webMAN (You can allow usage of special ASCII-characters 126-255, like 'TM' or 'R' in "ISO-conversion-Options")
    • After conversion/extraction a log-file will be shown, which compares size and number of files/folders. An eventually existing firmware-update-file 'PS3UPDAT.PUP' will be left out of the ISO. Because of this log-file reports that the generated ISO about 256MB less than the source game-folder. This is no problem and status in log-file will be 'OK' in such a case.

    • To patch ISOs under Windows 8(.1) click right on "PS3_ISO_TOOLS.exe" and choose "Run as administrator".

    - Game-Patcher to 'properly' patch PS3-Folder-Format-Game(s) to firmware version 3.55... FOR ODE- and CFW-USERS

    Usage:
    ******
Pretty self-explanatory(I hope)... read the tool-tips

    Notes:
    ******
    - It's important to set up your PS3-System on main window, because PS3 ISO TOOLS will make some preselections depending from that.

    - You can batch-convert all of your PS3-Folder-Format-Games, when you select your game-archive as source-folder(eg "X:\GAMES" or "X:\GAMESZ")

    - If you select a FAT32-drive as target for folder-format to ISO-format conversion the resulted ISO(s) will be split even without selecting the split-option

    - All other tools, with the exception of ISO-Patcher, support batch-operation as well. Just multi-select the ISOs you like to process.

    - As default ISO-name(s) will NOT contain special ASCII-characters 0-31, 126-255 and also NOT /\:*?"<>| ... This is to avoid problems with webMAN
(You can allow usage of special ASCII-characters 126-255, like '™' or '' in "ISO-conversion-Options")

    - After conversion/extraction a log-file will be shown, which compares size and number of files/folders.

    - 'Proper' patching is possible only for 3.55, because ps3-private-keys above 3.60+, which are needed for signing, are not yet released to the public.

    Tips:
    ******
    - If you've chosen to extract "PARAM.SFO" and "ICON0.PNG"(Game-Icon) while converting to ISO-format, the 2 files will be placed hidden as "[ISO-name].SFO" and "[ISO-name].PNG" at target-folder.
If you use webMAN copy these 2 files(per game) to "/dev_hdd0/tmp/wmtmp/". This will save you the effort to mount each game at least once to make webMAN display it's game-icon.

    - Make sure game-folder or any file inside game-folder isn't opened in any way before starting conversion.

    - Aborted batch-conversions could be continued. Already finished conversions will be skipped.

    - Find the options to patch a game to a lower firmware within the "Create ISO(s) Options".
First try the default options("If needed"). Then game(s) will only be patched when it's firmware version is higher as the set firmware version of your PS3-System
If PS3 ISO TOOLS does not patch anything and game doesn't work try the "Always"-Option.
The "Don't Create ISO(s)"-Option is just for CFW-Users who wan't to just patch the Game(s) in PS3-Folder-Format without creating an ISO(s) subsequently

    - Two zip files will be created while patching. They will be stored in 2 different folders named "ORIGINAL_FILES_ARCHIVE" and "PATCHED_FILES_ARCHIVE". One contains
backups of the original files which needs patching. And the other one the patched files. In order to restore just unzip the zip-file containing the original files
to the game-folder and you're done.

    - 1st try your game(s) without installed game-update(s)

      V2.0 - Changelog

    ********************** ENGLISH ***********************

!!! MAIN INTENTION FOR THIS NEW VERSION WAS ODE COMPATIBILITY !!!

    - Makes some reasonable pre-selections depending on users PS3 system

    - ISO(s) are now created via "genps3iso_v2.5" instead of "makeps3iso" for ODE compatibility

    - Proper and complete ODE/CFW compatible game patching to 3.55 (even not all of the newer games will run on CFW 3.55)
Patches PARAM.SFO, EBOOT.BIN, *.sprx, *.self and *.sdat files
The new patch functionality can be found at "ISO Conversion Options"
Note 1: To force patching use the "Always"-Option instead of the "If needed"-Option
Note 2: Use "Just Patch..." - Option if you don't want to create an ISO... intended for Non-Cobra-CFW-Users

    - "Patch ISO"-function, which is kind of a 'dirty' in-ISO-patching), now patches always(forced) to any firmware version between 3.55 and 4.66
Note 3: This will only work for CFW-User... so it's greyed out when u set up an ODE-system.

    - Automaticly generates backups of original/patched files as zip files for simple restoring (only for proper patching)

    - Excluding "PS3_UPDATE" folder from ISO is now optional

    - Creates missing "PS3_DISC.FSB" file

    - Readme updated

I must admit I don't have an ODE myself but found someone who tested it on an 4.53 ODE. So pls feel free to give it a try... but... for safety make sure you have a backup of your games if anything went wrong.

And... pls report back any bugs or problems you might find. Any suggestions are welcome as well.

1st off ODE users SHOULD/MUST use 'genps3iso', because i've been told that ISOs created with 'makeps3iso' does not work for them... so atm if you select ODE as ur system in PS3 ISO TOOLS main window 'makeps3iso'-option is grayed out.

Can't confirm this myself because i don't have an ODE. Are there some ODE-users out there who can confirm this ?

Regarding the decision between 'makeps3iso' and 'genps3iso' for CFW-users i have to go somewhat further into details:

While testing with 'genps3iso' i've run across a strange thing i still don't know what i should think about... PS3 ISO TOOLS uses cli-version of 7zip to count number of files and folders inside the ISO and compares it to number of files and folders in source-game-folder as a simple check if everything is ok with the created ISO. On all games i've tried so far number of files were equal, but on a lot of games number of folders were different.

So... I've opened and/or extraced some of those ISOs with windows-version of 7zip and i've found some folders have empty mirrors 1 level deeper into subfolder structure of the ISO(hard to describe as a non-native-english-speaker).

Now for the really strange things... If i open and/or extract such an ISO with WinRAR mirror-folders are not there and everything looks like it should. Extracting ISOs with the 'Extract ISO(s)'-function of PS3 ISO TOOLS, which uses estwalds 'extractps3iso', also gives no sign of a problem. And also, which is most important, ISOs work well on PS3 !

So... what's the conclusion of all this ? Does 'genps3iso' has a bug ?... Or 7zip ?... or both ?... I really don't know. But, as stated above, it will work without a problem on PS3 as far as i can tell and that's what counts from my point of view.

    PS3 ISO TOOLS V2.2 Changelog
    • Bug fix: Fixed the sometimes strange behaviour of the patch-checkbox ('Create ISO(s)')
    • Selectable firmware range is now up to 4.76 (Main menu & 'Patch ISO')
    • '[auto]'- and '[online]'-tags could now be added to ISO-filenames ('Create ISO(s)' & 'Modify ISO(s)')

    Regards,
    Rudi

From aldostools on the advantages of using ISO format:
    • No need for "BD MIRROR" on certain games. BD Mirror moves the /PS3_GAME to the root of disk and if the manager does not return it to the correct place you can get your game corrupted.
    • Files are read/transfer faster, specially on USB. A single physical file is opened, vs. hundreds or thousands of files on JB format.
    • It's easier to test the integrity of your game (just get the MD5 of your ISO, instead of MD5 of thousands of files)
    • Most managers support ISO via Cobra or Mamba
    • No need to cache files to play games with large files >4GB on FAT32
    • PS3 games are supported only in ISO format on NTFS drives

    It also has disadvantages:
    • It takes time and require lot of free hdd space to convert your all games
    • If you made a split ISO to make it fit on FAT32, you have to rebuild the ISO to make it work on NTFS or with netsvr
    • Once you created the ISO, it's hard to add files to PS3_EXTRA

My suggestion: convert only the problematic games (the ones that require BD Mirror or that only work as ISO), the games with thousands of files and the ones that have large files.

Finally, Rudi Rastelli has also made available PSN Liberator v0.9B followed by more revisions with details below, as follows:

    Features:
    *********
    - Converts PSN-content, like Games, PS1- PS2-Classics, DLCs, Minis, Themes and Avatars that normally needs activation into free content
    - As input you can either use PKG-Files or copied "/dev_hdd0/games/[GameID]"-folders
    - Optional integration of game-updates, unlock-PKGs/EDATs and DLCs
    - Converts PSN-games into disc-games (folder- or ISO- format)
    - Resigns all PSN-content to 3.55
    - Automatic and manual conversion of "*.rif" to "*.rap" files
    - Create a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc with the liberated PSN Contents.
    - Create a "PS2-Classics-Placeholder" rap-file

    1st Steps:
    **********
     1. Start LIBERATOR and follow assistent to the point to set up LIBERATOR for 1st use

Note: You can use the "PSN CONTENT"-folder from the LIBERATOR's program directory. It's a possible folder structure just for to show you how to get started... Just copy it elsewhere to follow the "How-To-Use"-Example (see below)

    "How-To-Use"-Example:
    *********************
    1. You need a fully installed, activated and updated PSN-game on your PS3. DLCs could be installed as well(they must be activated) (Most likely you already have a such a game on your PS3... else got to PSN-store and buy one)

    2. Find out the "GameID" of the game and search in "/dev_hdd0/games/" for a folder with exactly the name of that "GameID" Copy that folder to "PSN CONTENT\LOCKED\PSN GAMES\"

    3. Now enter "/dev_hdd0/home/0000000x/exdata/" and search for
       a) all "*.rif"-files with the "GameID" in it's name and copy them to "PSN CONTENT\RIFsRAPs"
       b) an "*.edat"-file with the "GameID" in it's name and copy it to "PSN CONTENT\UNLOCKS" (Not all games have "*.rif"- AND "*.edat"-files... often games have only one type) TIP: At 1st time just copy over all RIFs and EDATs you'll find.

    4. Set up in LIBERATORs main menu:
       a) "PSN Game Folder" = "PSN CONTENT\LOCKED\PSN GAMES\[GameID]\"
       b) "PSN Game Unlock File" = "PSN CONTENT\UNLOCKS\****[GameID]****.edat" (only if you've found an *.edat" for your game)

    5. Press Button:
       a) "PKG"              -> Creates a liberated PKG-File
       b) "DISC GAME FOLDER" -> Creates a liberated Disc-Game-Folder
       c) "ISO"              -> Creates a liberated ISO-File

    Notes:

    - To get Update-PKGs for each game u can use my PS3 GAME UPDATER

    - Sometimes an additional Unlock-PKG-File will be created. Install it to finally liberate the game. You can 1st try the liberated game without that Unlock-PKG-File installed. Not all games need them. Just try !

    - Not all PSN-games will work when they are converted to disc. It's a matter of TRY & ERROR ! (Sometimes it works without problems, sometimes it doesn't work at all, sometimes with freezes/errors/glitches)

    - The icon("ICON0.PNG") of every processed content will be saved in "[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]\GameIconCache\"-folder as "[GameID].PNG". This will most likely shorten the creation of a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc with "Bubble"-Game-Icons.

    - While creating a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc just drag&drop the PKG-Files, which should be included in the disc. Then arrange them to your likings. Create disc as game-folder or ISO.

    - If you've selected to use "Bubbles" with game-icons LIBERATOR will 1st search in "[LIBERATOR Programmverzeichnis]\GameIconCache\" for a "[GameID].PNG"-file. If it's not there it will extract the PKG-file to get the "ICON0.PNG". This could take a long time. To avoid this you can add game-icons maunally to "GameIconCache". Just name them "[GameID].PNG".

    - Keep in mind that a "Bubble"-PKG-Install-Disc can get really big depending on the number of and size of the PKG-Files you've added.

    - Don't update liberated games online or offline !... else they will be locked again !
This is a first beta version and i guess it will be not perfect. Therefore i would really appreciate any kind of feedback to sort out problems you might come across with it.
