    PS3 Hypervisor Debugging from GameOS is Now Enabled

    Today user has released a HVDebug PKG file for PlayStation 3 developers which enables PS3 hypervisor debugging from GameOS.

    To quote: This is incredible, hackers are making big progress towards reverse engineering the hypervisor on the PS3. The latest work and release comes from a developer who goes by the name 'user'-which is a hypervisor debugging tool that can run from GameOS.

    The tasks can be performed using this tool: Com Lib debug, Storage Manager debug, SB Manager debug, Update Manager debug, SYSCON debug, Dispatch Manager debug, VTRM debug, and patch Dispatch Manager policies.

    - Enable debug for some HV services
    - Patch Dispatch Manager policies (allow everything)

    Finally, from user comes a Hypervisor Debug Log, as follows:

    Hey there, this is probably not interesting to the average user, but i'm posting it anyway.

    Its an updated remote peek/poke plugin that allows capturing the Lv1 debug log in realtime (well, almost).
    tests have been done by me on 4.46 fat, but it should run on slim as well. there is a chance that 4.50 fat/slim could work too.
    it has to be started using prx loader ofc.

    Download: remote_pp.sprx

    If the debug output looks weired in putty, try enabling this option:

    Usage: run via prx loader (old remote p/p plugin has to be removed or replaced) connect your telnet client to your ps3 on port 4546

    hvlog enable lv1 logging
    hvprocdebug [process number] enable logging in lv1 process (3, 5, 6 or 9)

    it can be use to make payload ? to play ps1 and ps2 games ?

    tried to dump the memory, but it just came a 16mb zeroed file.

    You cant do that, Below is what the author said: right, full ram dumping doesn't work, yet. you need to use graf's linux kernel to make a full dump, sorry

    Its things like this that make me sad I got rid of my PS3's. OK, according to $0Ny we don't own our consoles and they are the voice of their own god. I hope to see a DVR app strait from XMB for all those hacked consoles! This is good news.

    I wonder if the extra memory obtained from a fake mini Hyper Visor take the originals place will allow cross game chat? or may be playing your own MP3's on any game like the hacked psp could.

    These programmers are making great strides towards a console the really does everything! Good luck and may "Graf" be with you.
