PS3 Debug / Test (DEX and DECR) Firmware 4.46 - 4.50 Updates Leaked

Following up on the previous Sony PS3 Debug leaks, today PlayStation 3 DEX (DECH) and Reference Tool (DECR) Firmware 4.46 - 4.50 updates have also surfaced from zecoxao alongside an ancient v0.96 update and partial PS3 SDK 4.40.001 leak with details below.

    Download: PS3DECHUpdateData.446.001.zip (180.1 MB) / PS3DECHUpdateData.450.001.zip (180.3 MB) / PS3DECRUpdateData.450.001.zip (152.7 MB) / PS3UpdateData.096.002.zip (65.2 MB) / PS3_SDK-440_001.zip (111.0 MB) / PS3 WebKit.tar.gz (22.2 MB) / PS3 WebKit License / PS Vita WebKit.tar.gz (22.3 - 1.81 or Below) / webkit_536_26.zip (1.1 GB) / PS Vita WebKit License

From the included ReadMe files: Changes in Release 446.001

    System Software (GUI)

The update data for debugging station has been updated at the same timing as the release of the system software 4.46. This update does not affect titles. Also, there is no change in the system software GUI.

    Known Issues/Restrictions

Check menu in the Game column - Validation of a media or the file system itself cannot be performed from the Check menu in the Game column.

    - When submitting a master disc, make sure to verify the disc that no error is present using the Disc Image Generator for PlayStation(R)3 or the Disc Image Checker for PlayStation(R)3.

    - When performing the check from the Check menu in the Game column, if the number of result files exceeds approximately 80 to 100 depending on each check item, the file entries of the root directory in the USB mass storage run out and the subsequent check result files may no longer be stored. In such case, move the check result files to another directory.

    Notes

    - The system software of the debugging station can be now downgraded to 4.46. Using this update data, you can also downgrade the system software version 4.X0 or later to 4.46.

Note: Please refer to "5 Updating Flash Memory -> Downgrading the Flash Memory" of the "Reference Tool Software Setup Guide" document for more details on downgrading the Flash memory.

    Release 096.002

This package includes the system software update data for PLAYSTATION(R)3 debugging station. This update data corresponds to SDK 096.002.

Please update the flash memory with a file included in this package. Instructions for the update is the same as an update for a reference tool.

capacity of at least 256 MB
    • A USB mass-storage device with a capacity of at least 256 MB, which can be connected to any of the USB connectors on the Reference Tool

    • Make a directory named PS3 in the root directory of the storage medium, and then make a sub-directory UPDATE in it.
    • Copy the update data to the created /PS3/UPDATE/ directory in the medium.
    • Remove the ".NNN.0xx" portion from the file name (to rename it to PS3UPDAT.PUP).

Insert the storage medium that contains the update data, and then select and launch the "System Update" in the GUI menu. Select "Update via Storage Media" for "Select an update method". Follow the instructions shown on the screen from then on.

Finally, part of the PS3 SDK 4.40.001 (110 MB) has also been leaked (linked above) with details below, as follows:

    SDK440 Environment Setting

Once the package is expanded, the software for the communication processor must be updated first. Please refer to “Reference Tool Software Setup Guide” for the detailed updating procedure, and please note the following points when updating.

    - If you are using the environment of SDK100 or before, please write the Flash Memory with the ebootrom included in SDK100 first.

    - Please note that the operation of when updated directly from the environment of SDK100 or before to SDK440 is not guaranteed.

From haz367: A 3.65/metldr1 stuck in FSM can be exited by using the MLT4.31 COREOS for downgrade.

Same here, although I haven't checked newsgroups etc. If anyone runs across it feel free to share as we don't mind links to SDK files at all.

It's such a sham about the "partial" SDK. I wonder if the full SDK will be available some time. That'd be really handy!

Thanks for this! This is why I'm glad I came across and love PS3 News. I've been waiting for the 4.46 and 4.50 DEX, but certainly didn't expect the extras! Definitely a sweet update. Now my personal archive is even more complete. Would be even better if someone somehow eventually released even more ancient updates, along with the full SDK. Though we'll see what happens. Keep up the awesome work!
