    Question PS3 Case Mods?

    Sponsored Links
Okay so I'm new to forums here and I wanted to ask a question about PS3 case mods. First off - Is this the right section? Secondly - Is there any special way to do a case mod? Thirdly - I made a controller mod (just painted it red with black stripes not that hard), would I actually spraypaint my ps3 to make a case mod? (I know that sounds like a really noobish question though)

    Thanks for any help,
    - Mimz

Welcome Mimz! I moved this to the PS3 Hacks section, which we use for the following topics:

why bother painting it? The case looks great as it is, 'cept the finish shows finger prints. Painting it may void your warranty also.

Use a good paint that is made for plastic (krylon) or whatever you end up choosing.

Have fun disassembling every single piece until you have it stripped to single parts.

More fun is to wet sand it until you have a nice smooth finish to work with.

Next wipe it down with some mineral spirits,... then paint away!!

I did a silver one... came out better than i could have wished!!

good luck and post up some pics if you decide to start work on you own case mod.

Painting the case was nice but you need to choose the right paint to get a great result or you will regret it

WOW nice, good job on the silver paint man. Love it.

Did you sand it first or just plain paint on top of the smooth skin?

yes of course you will want to sand first... for one to have smooth surface (no scratches) and secondly to the paint can better bond to the surface.
