    Project: PS3 Cell SPU Cheat Sheet WIP Arrives

    Yesterday Niraj Khadka (aka bluemimmosa) Tweeted GeoHot (who is currently entering a university level competiton at NASA in Florida) that he has started work on support for the PS3 Cell SPU (Synergistic Processing Unit), and has shared a PS3 Cell SPU Cheat Sheet WIP with other PlayStation 3 developers.

    I imagine what's done with cheatsheets in general... primarily used to save time. If you examine the column headings it explains what each is, but as many have posted above unless you are a Dev this isn't geared towards end-users.

    bluemimmosa did Tweet the following afterwards though:
    looking on how to write plugins for IDA pro....
    So it appears as though his next step is to work on a plug-in that can be loaded into IDA (disassembler) to simplify the process further.

    It's a SPU RISC assembler reference, basically a fraction of what has been public for years in IBM developer pages.. not sure why this is news. The vector instructions and isolation registers are even documented by IBM publicly..

    Like most projects we post here, it's done primarily to spotlight the Dev's work in hopes that others can lend a hand and get involved if they wish.
