Differences Between Pro-Dg and the SDK
What is the difference in dumping a game with pro-dg versus dumping it with the sdk?
There should be no difference from using the SNSYS tools, and using the SDK - for the most part Sony has pretty much "forced" developers to use the SNSYS suite , pretty much not supporting anything else anymore.
The plus is, its now "free" for developers!
would you be able to provide a guide on how to dump games with pro dg?
shummyr do not know if this is the right way indicating CJPC, i test all options, can only work so. With Target manager the option Save is available (same to PUT command in cellftp?), is possible to dump image from game disc, same with cellftp, but finally the files obtained do not look alike, can not set up or not done well, CJPC believes is the right way?
Dump with target manager:
Start Ps3 in Debug mode; from the host pc (Target Menu) or from PS3 (Debug Options)
Open the rows displayed on Targets column, and select File Sync.
Now displayed in right window: app_home, host_root, and dev_hdd0 dev_bdvd.
For example, to dumping game disc:
Click dev_bdvd, now displayed usual directories: PS3_GAME, PS3_UPDATE and PS3_DISC.SFB file.
Select PS3_GAME folder,from right mouse button or toolbar, select SAVE.
A new window will open, select file server directory (app_home), and click OK.
In the same column can open File Serving and will show the status of the transfer, file number, size, etc.
Now begins the transfer.

That's all, TM is very comfortable and easy to use, i wondered if the images obtained are valid or continue using cellftp.

I think you are right, as always, with other games the result is the same.
Just leave the result to verify EBOOT.BIN extracted with cellftp/Prodger.

very interesting finding, randalf, I wonder when developers use Target manager since it does not dump the game correctly.
Maybe for a dev is not necessary to dump the game if you already have on your hdd, or you should use the reference tool, not the debugging station, many of the TM options not operate whit ps3 debug, only exclusively for use with reference tool.
That means game won't boot if we dump it with ProDG?
