MultiMAN PS3 Backup Manager v2.00.02 with SNES9x is Released

Today multiMAN v2.00.02 is available for PS3 JailBreak and Custom Firmware users which now includes squarepusher2's SNES9x PS3 Super Nintendo Emulator built-in.

    multiMAN v2.00.02 Changelog:
    • SNES9X_for_multiMAN_TEST.pkg (squarepusher2's port with some minor changes to handle passed ROMs at startup)
    • multiMAN ver 2.00.02 UPDATE.pkg
    • (WIP) Added: Support for latest SNES9x port for PS3
    • (WIP) Added: Support for SNES9x ROMS: SMC/smc, FIG/fig, SFC/sfc, GD3/gd3, GD7/gd7, DX2/dx2, BSX/bsx, SWC/swc, JMA/jma
    • Added: Support for playing music/playlists from PS3 XMB Music column (thanks to squarepusher2 again)
    • Fixed: rescanning of XMMB columns
    • Changed: max entries in column 1024
    • Added: content icons for Retro column and Snes9x cover

Here is a new update for those who wish to try the SNES9x roms with multiMAN:

    Disruption theme in screenshot:

    multiMAN ver 2.00.02 UPDATE (20110527_112000)_WITH_SNES9X_and_SHOWTIME.rar (36.1 MB)

p.s. You may get an error during SNEX9x installation that you already have a newer version. If you don't have roms - remove the old and install the new. Otherwise backup the ROMs.

You can set parameters for the SNESx in the options.ini/options_default.ini:
    # Retro EMULATORS
    # SNES9x for PS3

You can always delete it from XMMB mode SETTINGS -> Clear Game Cache Data

Hmm... can't seem to get the new snes stuff working...

I tried to change the rom path to my snes folder on my external usb in the options-default.ini and nothing showed up under the retro tab.
I changed the snes folders name to "roms" and nothing showed up under the retro tab. I also noticed that the SNES9X emulator doesnt show up in the GAMES tab like it does in the screenshot.

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong?

Even if i can't get this particular update to function for me, I have to say, AWESOME WORK, DEAN!!! The direction you are taking this backup manager is amazing and I agree with the other people that say that this could easily be a replacement for XMB in a cfw. I love the idea of launching apps and roms straight from MultiMAN! Thanks again!

How do you exit the Rom to Multiman or XMB without rebooting the PS3?

Press [R3] in the emulator and the last option is to return to multiMAN.

    Hi Dean, Nice work

What resolution must have the Roms-Covers and which file format ?

If it continues like this with you, then you get another job offer from Sony hehe

PS.: Sorry for my english, i hope you understand me.

Is there in anyway to put snes roms into album folders.

I takes a long time to go through the roms if you have Complete GoodSNES V2 04 (11337 ROMS)

Am i the only one that can't get multiman to see their snes games? They're zipped but i tried an unzipped game an it still wouldnt show up. Is it a problem with reading snes games from an external hard drive instead of the internal drive? I'm just not sure why I can't get multiman to detect the roms or even the emulator itself.

This is the address I have for my snes games right now snes_roms=/dev_usb001/SNESROMS

No roms show up. I also tried snes_roms=/SNESROMS because I noticed in the options-default.ini that all the usb paths skipped the "/dev_usb001/" beginning of usb paths.

The last thing I tried was just renaming the SNESROMS folder "roms" and put it at the root of my external hard drive like the options-default.ini told me to. Still nothing.

I wish this worked for me soooo much....
