What firmware did your ps3 come shipped with. You have to downgrade the ps3 first cause it has to be on cfw 3.55 to be able to use all new cfw. The only one that i know of that can be used on firmware shipped higher than 3.55 is the rebug 4.21. There is a guide here for doing this. So the first thing that you need is a nor flasher. Do you have one of them. thanks and let me know. Also let me know what the model number is of your ps3. thanks

Hi i have a ps3 phat version 80gb which is on rogero 3.55 v3.7. In xmb menu it says im on 4.21 but multiman says 3.55. I am trying to upgrade to rogero 4.30 v2.03 but have experienced errors when updating it says the data is corrupted error code 8002f157.

I have also tried installing this through recovery menu an it does the same thing. But the screen before i press start & select says connect storage media that contains update data of version 4.40 or later which to my knowledge is a load of bull because the latest firmware that is out is 4.31. Any help with this would be much appreciated thanks.

collo have you dehashed the system (qa flag)? if not try that first, then follow the steps again (Rogero cfw)

Your getting that error because of qa flag. Rogero 3.55 v3.7 is spoofed that is why it shows 4.21. It is just a number the 4.40 same as rebug says 999, nothing to worry about. Make sure there are no discs in your PS3, install toggle_qa, then run it without any USB drives connected

Check with combo button selection while highlighting Network Settings. If you want to make sure QA flag was set, go to "Network Settings" then apply the following key combo (all at the same time):

    L1 + L2 + L3 (press left stick) + R1 + R2 + dpad_down

You should see Edy Viewer, Debug Settings, and Install Package Files if done correctly.

Then install OFW 3.55, and then you should be able to update to Rogero 4.30 v2.03 in XMB

Hi thanks for responding so quickly. I did the QA flag before with usb ports plugged in. Just done it again just as you said without anything connected to usb ports. I have all 3 of those files you mentioned above an now i'm just wondering where i could download an untouched official 3.55 ofw download. As the ones i have tried i rename it to PS3updat.PUP an ps3 doesn't detect anything. Thanks in advance.
