Sony Confirms PS4 / PlayStation 4 to Release on November 15, 2013
Following previous rumors and their Gamescom 2013 Press Conference, Sony has officially confirmed that the PS4 / PlayStation 4 release date will be on November 15, 2013 in North America (US and Canada), on November 29, 2013 in Europe and on February 22, 2014 in Japan.
Right from the start of the conference, aspects of the new console's menu system was on display, showing a modified Cross-Media Bar that seemed to focus more on games in related content than multiple static menus and the new controller based keyboard that uses a free-moving crosshair than the current setup.
Additionally, President and Group CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House confirmed that gamers who have already bought the PS3 version of specific games such as Call of Duty, Battlefield, and Watch Dogs will be able to purchase the PS4 version for a severely discounted price. Sony did this to "reward gamers for their loyalty" and to ensure the system is as "simple and accessible as possible."
The PlayStation 4 will launch in a total of 32 territories around the world by the end of the year with the PS4 console retailing for $399 / €399 / £349 just in time for the holiday season.

What the heck!? this price diference is a ultimate robbery come on 399 and 349 thats 130 to 140 more than the US retail price not to mention the two week delay.
I though they world like to make a effort to lower the price for everyone.
of course usa first. sony are idiots
by then aussie will be delayed til next year, if so i'll be swapping to pc gaming...
You could always import one since they are region free anyway.
You would have to be crazy to miss out on YEARS of gaming on PS4 just because the release date is a little further out.
But, you should also build a gaming PC as well. I already have a gaming PC, but I want a PS4 also, because there are a good bit of very fun games that only come out on Sony consoles.
i've already pre ordered my ps4 and games so i'll be expecting to pick it up nov 29th. end of story or a refund and that will be the end of my sony story. they will lose a top 1k trophy hunter and 10k a year
Just payed off my pre-order and ready to play some drive club since that the only thing i can get at launch since i have plus. Maybe some one will get me watch dogs for Christmas (fingers cross)
so is driveclub 100% free at ps4 launch with ps plus. i've heard it will be free but in few months.can anyone confirm 100% please.. cheers
I thought it would be earlier, but I'm glad we have a date.
It boggles me as to why people rush to buy new consoles. You know a newer, slimmer, and most likely cheaper version will be out in a few more months... I'll kindly wait. The games and PSN will still be there.
