January 29, 2007 - PS3 now seems to be your choice if you're looking for next generation derby racing. Koei has announced a PS3 version of Winning Post 7 Maximum 2007, the latest entry in the simulation side of its digital horse racing family. The game will hit both the PS2 and PS3 in Japan on 3/29.
The Maximum 2007 update to Winning Post 7 adds 2007 stats, including the year 2007 JRA racing program. You'll also find the Summer Sprint Series, Summer 2000 Series, and even overseas racing series like the Asia Mile Challenge and the Global Sprint Challenge. The update also adds a new race course.
Specific to the PS3 version are stronger racing algorithms, improved horse and rider models, and, of course, high definition visuals. Sadly, it seems like only the PS2 version will offer the option of having horses and riders that you've raised in G1 Jockey 4 2006 appear in the game.
Koei is asking a premium for the PS3 version. Compared to the PS2 version's 7,140 yen, the PS3 version will go for 7,560 yen.
