    No, it isn't possible. The only way to disable it are the new ps3 with metloader 2, but probably they could also be downgraded in other way.

    I think only new ps3 with metloader2 cannot be downgraded now (probably in the future you can do it). No, sony cannot patch all the consoles, I think no new firmware can stop the work of it.

    I don't understand the utility of this new firmware, it does not bring any new feature.

    There play back up date = security patch. nothing more or improve that you can see or feel.

    i do know that the 186mb 3.72 OFW is the full FW update package, but what about the patch ??

    The one in the OP, it's basically an incremental update patch to save users on 3.7 from having to download the full 3.72

    Or with all these PS3 Firmware updates to save Sony some bandwidth money I suppose.
