Not a mandatory update? It forced me to update to 3.15 to log in.
http://blog.us.playstation.com/2009/...ftware-update/Login to PSN or Home? This is what Sony said:
Then the PS Updater shows the following: http://fus01.ps3.update.playstation....updatelist.txt
[Register or Login to view code]
On the mandatory updates, both are the same version basically.
PSN account. I wanted to log in so I can enter the PS store to download a demo.
Chances are that may be why, which makes little sense, I agree.
Perhaps Sony considers users who login to PSN, Home, etc as actively using their network... meaning when you visit those areas or manually click on System Update under the XMB's Settings icon you will see and initiate the latest PS3 Firmware update available.
That being said, if you remain passive and don't access them (if I understand this correctly) you will not be prompted to download v3.15 at this time... which is why they are saying it's not a "mandatory" update.
That is the only way I can interpret it... short of calling both Sony and the PS Updater outright liars.
So nice to run psp games, maybe in the future they release full psp games.
i hope to play even psp GOW in ps3.
Everyone keeps saying PSP games, but you actually mean only the PSP minis, right? Because I'd like to play GTPSP on my PS3.
Think that they may hack this psp emulator so it can run psp minis downloaded from the pc, and imagine that they were to add ps2 to ps3 then it would be just awesome to hack the ps3 making it capable of running psx, ps2, psp, ps3. i would love that but from what i've read theres a long way before that is if the ps3 gets hacked.
