Featured New Releases:

Madonna - MNDA

Trying to nail down the "if you like" recommendations for an artist like Madonna is nearly impossible because no matter how hard you try and rack your brain, Madonna truly lives on a playing field all her own. Her history is complex and varied, a mult-threat punch that has now released her 12th studio album, following 2008's Hard Candy.

A seasoned collaborator, she invited Nicki Minaj, LMFAO and M.I.A. to join her, the latter of which inspired the album's title, MNDA. She will be full speed ahead this summer, hitting a personal-record 90 dates across the world, a direct effect of her partnership with Live Nation that thankful fans are clamoring to be a part of.

The Mars Volta - Noqtourniquet

This is a big year for the splinter projects of El Paso, TX's most recognized musical exports, At the Drive-In. Not only has ATDI announced a performance at Coachella 2012 (with more in the works) Sparta (the brainchild of Jim Ward) reunited for an album and tour. But, not to be outdone, we already have the latest from The Mars Volta Noqtourniquet.

In a surprise to no one, this is a concept album from a band well-known for weaving an intricate story into complex musical structures, some lasting over 12 minutes on previous albums. They seem to have reigned in it for this album though, complicating very little and feeling more focused than ever - perhaps due to the lack of RHCP's John Frusciante after several years.

Civil Twilight - Holy Weather

These South African natives have set up camp for several years in Nashville, steadily chipping away in the alternative rock scene after the release of 2010's self-titled effort.

They gained momentum with licensing home-runs, "Anybody Out There," and "Letters from the Sky" and are set to do the same with smash tracks like, "Fire Escape" and "Every Walk I've Ever Taken Has Been in Your Direction."

Their name comes from the description of "the brightest phase of twilight," which seems wholly appropriate for a band with one of the brightest lights towards breaking through in 2012.
