New PS3 and PSP Releases for the Week of February 28, 2011
Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Rey Gutierrez is here with the new PS3, PSP and PSN releases for this coming week today as follows:
We're celebrating Patapon 3 and the launch of PixelJunk Shooter 2 with style and PlayStation class this week, by tossing a massive community event at The Mighty this Monday night and you're all invited!
Come one, come all fans of the PixelJunk series, to hang with team PlayStation, members of Q-Games and hundreds of your fellow gaming compatriots.
The festivities don't end when we kick on the house lights folks, you can continue the party in your subterranean vehicles on Tuesday when PixelJunk Shooter 2 launches on PSN this week.
Jeff, Sid and I hope to see you all there and look forward in meeting each and every one of you in person. Just look for my branded hair and PlayStation ink. In the mean time, enjoy this week's The Drop.
PixelJunk Shooter 2 - In PixelJunk Shooter, players pilot a subterranean vehicle to explore the interior of diverse cave-like complexes. The player must affect the surrounding and dynamic terrain to progress.
The goal is to safely navigate through each vivid stage and rescue survivors scattered about the cavernous environment. Each stage is in-effect a flow simulation whereby the player attempts to control various types of liquid (water, magma, etc) and solid matter (rock, earth) either by destroying it, manipulating it or moving it.
Modnation Racers - ModNation Racers is a thoroughly fresh take on classic kart racing that empowers the player to personalize their entire game. Players can express themselves by creating their own Mod character, styling their own racing kart and even building - in just minutes - an imaginative track that can be shared with the rest of the PlayStation community via the free PlayStation Network service.
- MLB 2K11
- Call of Duty: Black Ops
- Top Spin 4
- Alien Breed 3: Descent
- Marvel Pinball
Fight Night Champion - Step into the ring for this 2011 entry in the knockout king boxing franchise. Fight Night Champion sets out to define a new standard in sports videogames by delivering the most dynamic simulation fighting experience to date, pushing visual boundaries and redefining the single player journey for the category.
Man vs Wild - Man vs. Wild captures the heart-pounding excitement and realistic nature of the Discovery Channel's top-rated television series. The game offers five authentic situations in a role play-style adventure, featuring seasoned survival expert Bear Grylls.
The action begins when players are dropped into extreme conditions and forced to demonstrate indigenous survival techniques such as escaping quicksand in the desert, exploring dangerous jungles, traversing ravines in the mountains and navigating some of the world's most treacherous waters.
Rango: The Video Game - Rango The Video Game invites players to continue on Rango's wild journey through new adventures inspired by the movie. Set in a gritty, pint-sized, Wild West World filled with off-color characters, wild rides and frantic shoot-outs, Rango invites players of all ages to meet the residents of the town of Dirt and play through Rango's whacky Tall Tales of Adventure, brimming with intense action and outlandish scenarios.
Vagrant Story - Adventure into a world of unparalleled depth and danger with SquareSoft's Vagrant Story. In this sweeping dungeon-crawling epic you play as Ashley Riot, a young assassin and spy for the organization known as Riskbreakers.
Your goal is to unravel a deep and twisted plot and come to terms with the recent death of your wife and child. If this sounds a bit too cerebral never fear. Your path to recapturing your sense of humanity hinges on the destruction of countless vicious monsters and the exploration of dark and dangerous dungeons.
