February 6, 2007 - At this past year's E3, amidst a plethora of trailers to hype up the then-forthcoming release of its PlayStation 3 console, Sony showed a trailer for one of Naughty Dog's in-progress titles. The jaw-dropping trailer featured a t-shirt clad hero running through a jungle and fighting off some militia. A release timeframe or even title was not given at that time, and while rumors have run rampant that the game may be called Big or even Jungle Guy Attacks, as of yet there's still no official word on either.
However, a webpage set up for a game design workshop at the USC School of Cinematic Arts may have let the cat out of the bag. One of the instructors at the workshop will be none other than E. Daniel Arey, creative director at Naughty Dog Studios. His biography credits him for work on much of Naughty Dog's past titles as well as a previously unannounced PlayStation 3 title scheduled for release in 2007, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune. After performing a few simple algebraic equations and sacrificing a couple goats, we've deduced that this is very likely the title of Naughty Dog's jungle-themed game.
We contacted Sony for comment on this matter and were surprisingly told, "We do not comment on rumors or speculation. An official announcement has not been made." Take that as you will.
For more information on the game with no official name, take a look at an interview we conducted just after E3 last year.
