I have both a PS3 and a 360. I had such high hopes for the PS3... and it let me down. But with that said, I must take into account that the features the PS3 are missing were not available on the 360 at it's launch, either. It took a few firmware updates to get all those goodies, save Live, which I don't feel I should have to pay to play with my friends online anyway. Of course one would assume that by delaying the launch so many times because of "hardware production problems" that the software guys would have had time to make adjustments and improvements to the OS.
If we are to compare the two NOW, then the 360 is winning, hands down. But like the article states, we'll have to wait til Winter 07 to see if, after the developers have gotten the hang of Sony's difficult to program machine, they can really take the games to the next level.
If Sony wants to win, they have to do the following, at LEAST by the European launch:
* Fix the 720p issue
* Upconvert DVDs
* Greatly improve it's online structure
* Mulititasking (Background downloading, music in-game, etc.)
* Get rumble back in the controller
