Morrison's getting another chance, however, as Coming Soon reports Paramount Picture's asking him to look at the script for Area 51.
Area 51's meant to be an adaptation of Midway's science fiction shooter released a few years back, chronicling an extraterrestrial viral outbreak within the top secret military facility. Midway will be releasing a larger-scale sequel this summer on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 that leaves Area 51, but the movie's focused on the actual facility.
Dean Georgaris (The Manchurian Candidate remake, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life) wrote the previous working draft for Area 51. Morrison's previous forays into cinema include Sleepless Knights, a treatment for director Ridley Scott, and sequels in The Lawnmower Man series. So far, none of them have been put to film -- can Morrison break his streak with Area 51?
