XBox 360 Games We Expect Microsoft to Announce This Year
2009 is well upon us, it has really become unofficial tradition at Microsoft to announce a line up in the year it will be released at times teasing something for future years.
Here are a few titles we believe may receive some sort of recognition from Microsoft this year:
Perfect Dark 2
The last anyone saw of Perfect Dark was in 2005 with the release of Xbox 360 launch title Perfect Dark Zero. The game had sold well over 1 million copies and to this day still enjoys a dedicated online community despite the release of many competing titles over the years.
Rare was able to successfully create a online multiplayer experience which few have delivered, the ability for 32 players to battle it out in large maps without dedicated servers is a rarity, surprisingly a full house would generate very little lag, only in the most extreme cases would lag become a issue.
Perfect Dark Zero was a financial success for Microsoft showing the world Perfect Dark is still a viable franchise. Upon release many also called the Perfect Dark series the new "Halo" series for Microsoft. This is also one that was rumored in the past, even one we speculated Rare was working on, despite the Halo franchise making a return in 2009; we still expect a 2009 announcement and release.
A FASA Studios Title
Yes we realize this is a "blanket statement" but consider this, in 2007 just weeks after the unfortunate closing of FASA Studios various ex FASA people created a new company called "Smith & Tinker" the founders of Smith & Tinker revealed they had licensed out all previous FASA Studio titles for future development. 2 years later we're sure they have something to show, these titles include and are not limited to MechWarrior, Shadowrun, and Crimson Skies, we expect an announcement in regards to one of these titles in the near future.
Brute Force 2
The original Brute Force was released in 2003 on the original Xbox console; the game was definitely an anticipated one, upon releasing the game broke all previous Xbox sales records, including those set by Halo: Combat Evolved. The game was reviewed quite well to boot, essentially making it a success for both Microsoft and developer Digital Anvil.
The game was a squad based shooter; the game was also built for coop play, a definite plus for the game. Players were in squads of 4 with each team mate having their own unique abilities requiring the player to switch between all 4 to complete various objectives. Despite squad gameplay being touted as a necessity for gameplay many were underwhelmed, despite team mates playing a key role in many parts of the game many felt the game could have used more.
After 7 years of dormancy we believe the Brute Force series will see a "revival" in 2009, the series definitely has potential. The original develop, Digital Anvil was closed approximately 3 years after the games release by Microsoft for reasons still unbeknownst to us.
Despite this, half of the original staff is still at Microsoft Game Studios; we don't see any studio currently at Microsoft "fitting the bill" for development so we assume the creation of a studio for said project is likely, the return of Digital Anvil? Probably not, but we can still hope, can't we?
Killer Instinct 3
Unless you've been living under a rock for the past decade you have probably heard mumblings of a new Killer Instinct game being in the works. These rumors at times have been so obvious it's almost impossible to not see some form of an official announcement coming this year.
Forza Motorsport 3
When your studio is about making racing sim's, it leaves little for one to do. Forza Motorsport 3 has been rumored many times in the past, many deem it essentially confirmed as some methods make it a bit too obvious.
We expect Forza 3 will be out this year to compete with Gran Turismo 5, of course the title would have been in development for some time now to have such a thing occur.
Project Gotham Racing 5
After Activision bought Bizarre Creations, the Project Gotham Racing series was left without a home. This year we expect to hear more from Microsoft about the future of the series including a developer, although many have already assumed Turn 10, the developers of the Forza series have already taken the license.
We will definitely hear from the game this year, although don't expect a release that will conflict with the Forza 3 window. 2009 might be a stretch if Forza 3 is indeed released; we personally believe a 2010 release would be more logical.
And there you have it, our picks! Agree or disagree with our list? Feel free to comment below!

More PlayStation 3 News...
Wow! Killer Instinct! now that's a AAA+ title! It would be awesome if they would come up with a new one. But then again since Microsoft bought Rare, things went downwards because the original employees left.
I think there is an originality issue here, especially as they are all follow ups - M$ suck.
