Rumor: XBox 360 Slim Model with Valhalla Chipset Uncovered?

    Sponsored Links
Kotaku is reporting on what appears to be a rumored XBox 360 slim model featuring a Valhalla chipset today.

Speculation is currently underway as to whether the source of the picture is a legitimate Chinese leak ala PS3 Slim, or a hoax.

To quote: "These pictures apparently show the guts of a new model of the Xbox 360. The important bits? The fact that for the first time the console combines the CPU and the GPU in a single chip. Oh, and it's small.

The pic shows the board in question, with the chip part of a rumoured redesign for the Xbox 360 console, testing of which has recently been completed in China.

This isn't simply a new board for the existing hardware, either; it's reportedly a total redesign of the console. Think the PS3 Slim, only... for an Xbox 360.

Now, considering the source, there's every reason to be sceptical of the images, and the info. Then again, with Natal due later this year, rebooting the 360 itself to go along with it would make a lot of sense, especially if a reduction in size could come with a reduction in cost."

    Lightbulb

Looking at just the picture, heaps can be seen:

There are now 2 SATA ports (Maybe implying that there will be internal DVD and internal HDD)

The GPU and CPU have been combined into one chip, and is of a more modern heat distribution style.

There appears to be a wireless chip, meaning WIFI will be built in.

IF this is a fake, it is an extremely good one.

i expect it to be the Natal Xbox like what was being rumoured a very long time ago. and with what the above said, it sounds like it wont be getting any cheaper, just smaller, improved slightly and for once a complete xbox 360 package (first for everything i guess)
itll most likely be more expensive if it is the natalbox

I heard valhalla chips are to be made with 45nm technology it means less heat is produced so these chips will last longer.

One Sata Port for the DVD Drive and the other Sata Port for the HDD, and look at how the 20 Gig PS3 did not have built in wireless but all the newer models do have built in wireless.
