April 9, 2009 // 1:30 pm - Universal Unbrick Disc is now on v2 and will work with Firmware 4.0. Additionally, you will not need a modchip, cIOS-CORE or Rescue Menu hacks to be installed.

It will also work with the Original Rescue Menu and you only need a modded Original GC Controller and the cIOS249 installed. Thats all.

I changed the game partition to run with IOS249 and its set to autoboot... so as long you have the cIOS249 installed and its a cIOS with cDIP module it will work.

Download: Universal Unbrick Disc v2

Then I updated the ticket and tmd to be named as UUD but I had to change the game partition, the iSO itself and the crypted name of the game too to be fully displayed as "Universal Unbrick Disc"

And be sure you use an ORIGINAL GC Controller because we can't manage to boot into rescue menu with a 3rd-Party GC Controller.

How to Use:

• Extract and burn the image
• Turn on Wii and insert disc to auto boot WAD Manager

Universal Unbrick Disc v2 is Now Available for Nintendo Wii

Hi all. I need some help.

My brother bricked his Wii. Possibly using a disk with wrong region.

He has an USA Wii and it is modchiped. The original chip is a "no-brand", but has the Lattice Mach XO no solder on it.
I also tried using a Sunkey Lite with the same or worst results.

Here is what I have done so far:

1) tried to access DM using the GAMECUBE control on port 4. Fine I can see the 3.4 (USA) FW on the screen. But I've tried to boot the UUDv4 or the LCUDv3 with no success. The disk spins for a while and nothing happens. It stops and the FW message stays there. I though it was a problem related to the MODCHIP and autoboot. I dunno if this is the problem, but read further please;

For some unkown reason I forced again the ISO of the UUDv4 to autoboot (bootme uudv4.iso a) and for a couple of times when I was trying to figure out what was happening, this disk did the same as stated before, but a few seconds later it started to spin again, but nothing happend. I can only think on a bad drive or some poor conection on the modchip.

2) He bought the savemii dongle. It starts as the GAMECUBE hack does, and all happens again, the FW message stays there for any of the rescue disks I try to boot.

The only different stuff I got happened when I burned the ISO of the NSMB with autoboot. Using savemii the message disappeared and a message in spanish (my brother set it as default language):

Ocurrió un Error.
Oprime el Botón EJECT, saca el disco y apaga la consola. Consulta el manual de operaciones de la consola Wii para obtener más información

There was an error. Press the Eject button, remove the disc and turn off the console. Consult the manual of operations for the Wii console for more information

Using the Super Smash Bros Brawl (DVD5 or DVD9) with forced autoboot (bootme), this message appears:

Se ha producido un error.
Pulysa el Botón EJECT, extra el disco y apaga la consola.
Consulta el manual de instrucciones de la consola Wii para obtener más información.

(same translation)

Other game discs or originals only removed the FW version and nothing happens.

Tested with another drive, same results. Checked the BT dongle and WiFi module and they are fine, worked on another Wii.

And as he has bought this console already chipped, for sure don't have any bootmii, nand backups, or stuff like that.

Could you guys give some advice?

Thanks in advance.

Hi all,

After searching for a couple of days, I finally found this terrific forum... After a software update of my wii, it now starts with only a black screen. I'm willing to try the unbrick methode but I cannot find the Universal-UnbrickDisc.

Can someone point me in the right direction?

Thx

I have read through most of these posts. My problem is that I cannot get my Wii into the recovery Menu. I have modded my GC controller, it does not take me to the recovery menu. I bought a softmii dongle but stil nothing, i suppose it works the same as the Gc.

what can i do alse ? The system was original 3.3E

I am sorry my friend...

Your wii is completely bricked. The only think you can do now is to sent your wii to nintendo to give you a new one. This is an illegal solution and I don’t recommend you to do it but you decide.

As far as i have always heard only Gc controller does the trick , bec it works just like the savemii dongle...

Yes I can confirm DDR Mat works, but not easy to press all 4 direction at once even with two people. I only get into recovery menu once after the 10+ tries.

Another update on my adventure of fixing my wii. To save you from going back in the forum to find my earlier post, here is another overview:

korean wii, updated to 4.2, now error 003.. can get into recovery mode with GC controller (4 keys) when I put original Zelda in, the 4.2 USA in the corner goes away but does not load.

Bought a drivekey, put in another Wii, set to autoboot. Put in the bricked wii, changed to usa region on drivekey, now it will start original zelda but stays on black screen (same as before). universal unbrick disc and region changer disc do not load, while they supposed to be autoboot as well. Wrong cd? sony dvd-r at 2 speed?

Any other region on the drivekey will make zelda not even boot anymore. So that would make me guess the drivekey is installed properly. any tips? anyone?
